General Information
“5 Henson” is a general medical/surgical unit, whose specialty is Orthopaedics.
Common diagnoses include:
- Femur fracture
- Scoliosis/spinal fusion
- Supracondylar fracture
- Any general medical diagnoses
Most casting is done in the Operating Room, but we can use the 5 Sutherland Treatment Room for casting, if needed. We are the experts on cast care, traction, and other orthopaedic topics.
We are a small, 14-bed, brightly-colored unit that opened in January 2005. All patient rooms are private.
Our patients range in age from neonates to 18 years.
We work primarily with the Orthopaedic surgeons, residents, and APNs. We also work with the “Purple Team” – one of our general medical teams composed of resident and attending physicians.
