Attention: Parents, Parents-to-be, Grandparents, Caregivers and anyone interested in learning the basics of CPR. This course is taught according to American Heart Association guidelines and covers the skills necessary for providing basic life support to adults, children and infants. This is not a certification class.

How to perform infant, child and adult CPR,
What to do when an infant, child or adult is choking
Ways to ensure infant and child safety.

Health Careers Open House

The High School Health Careers Open House will provide an opportunity for students to learn more about health career opportunities and to discover what career options are available at Children’s Mercy Hospital. The event will include a history of CMH, information about how to prepare for a career in healthcare, a virtual tour of the hospital, and a panel presentation of various health care providers. Lunch will be provided at the end of the program. All students MUST be accompanied by adults.

IBD Education Symposiums

The CCFA Mid-America Chapter and Children’s Mercy Hospital have decided to combine our patient IBD education symposiums this year (you can list us as Co-Host for this Event). The date for this symposium will be September 13th and it will be held at North Kansas City Hospital; the agenda will accommodate a “Pediatric Track”. The symposium will consist of CCFA’s keynote speaker, Dr. Glenn Gordon. He will speak in the auditorium to all attending, which will be open to both pediatric and adult patients, and then we plan to have three breakout sessions; one which will be pediatric. Dr. Charles Roberts, Dr. Jen McCullough, and Carey Spain, MSW will all be presenting from CMH. (Registration will start at 8 am and a light breakfast and snack will be provided. Invitations will be sent out soon. The event is to be done by 1pm)

Safe Sitter

The best sitter is a Safe Sitter! This course teaches boys and girls, ages 11 to 13.
Safe Sitters learn:
-Basic child care skills
-How to entertain children and keep them safe
-How to be confident caregivers
