The Center for Minimally Invasive Surgery at Children's Mercy Hospital is staffed by nationally-recognized experts in laparascopic and other minimally invasive surgical techniques. The state-of-the-art surgical facilities have been specifically equipped for minimally invasive surgical procedures for children of all ages.
Children's Mercy Hospital offers a broad range of surgical services including the complex tertiary care of both congenital and acquired head, neck, thoracic, abdominal and extremity diseases. Staff members provide 24-hour coverage and can be promptly reached for surgical consultations.
The research being conducted by the Center for Prospective Trials at Children's Mercy Hospital investigates variables that do not allow the patient's course to vary from normal daily practice. Therefore, enrollment does not influence the length of treatment, number of blood draws, or number of studies obtained.
Children's Mercy Hospital is a Level 1 pediatric trauma center. Our Pediatric Surgery Residency Training Program was established in 1975. We have since added a Surgical Critical Care Residency Training Program. The Surgical Scholars Program offers exposure to pediatric surgical diseases and participation in research.
