Safe At Home
Kohl’s and Children’s Mercy are partnering on the Safe At Home initiative to provide information and resources needed to help make your home a safe place for children.
Fighting the Flu with Facts
Children’s Mercy has launched a new web site, www.childrensflucenter.org, to provide parents with a one-stop source of information on seasonal flu and H1N1. The site includes answers to commonly asked questions, videos, articles and links to additional resources.
As new medications are developed, many of them are not tested for appropriate use in children. Children's Mercy Hospital is one of four major pediatric medical centers nationwide who have formed a new consortium to work with pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies to provide phase I and II clinical trials for patients from birth through adolescence. Learn more about the Pediatric PharmacoKinetic Consortium and what it means for children at www.ppkc.org.
Children’s Mercy brings the latest in cardiovascular X-ray technology to its pediatric patients
Children’s Mercy is the first pediatric hospital in the U.S. with cardiac catheterization labs featuring vascular X-ray systems with next generation AIP technology. Children’s Mercy will utilize the systems for numerous clinical applications, including cardiac catheterizations, interventional procedures, electrophysiologic studies, device implantation and general diagnostic imaging. With the new Infinix systems, the medical center is now performing hybrid procedures that bring multiple clinical experts together in the operating room to offer a complete and collaborative medical solution.
